I see Titleist is Tour Seeding their new line of Metal Woods this week at the Memorial. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more about them !!!! Always exciting when Titleist releases Woods with a new moniker. The TS series have a lot of wins under the belt. I can just imagine what Titleist must have achieved in order to warrant a new line :)

I'm curious to know what changed. Not liking the new name change though. The 9 series was around for 10 years, TS* line didn't last long.

I'm liking the the clean look. But when I think of GT, I attach it to my mustang, so does it stand for Grand Touring? It is a driver Then again its just a name and doesn't affect the performance of the club.

  4. Curious if GT stands for anything (other than what it means in the car world). Maybe same thing since they will be fast with lots of ball speed?

I had a chance to do a fitting for the new GT Metals during my time at the TT Invitational at Fox Harbour. I did gain overall yardage as well as some carry distance. Simply by changing the head on my existing shaft I found an increase in spin rate, carry distance, and overall distance. There was also an increase in ball speed which correlates with the distance gains. I have little doubt some players will appreciate the change in the sound of the ball coming off the club. I has a solid sound and feel compared to my existing TSR3. If it were not for the fact my driver is barely broken in and that I am in dire need of a new Scotty, I would place the order right a way ! Titleist does indeed keep making improvements to their equipment. Makes it worthwhile waiting the 2 years between releases :)
