I placed an order for a new GT2 3w with a Graphite Design Tour AD VF 8X shaft. The order form indicates "Standard tipping 1"" Does that mean the shaft is trimmed 1" total or is it cut differently to account for the adapter?

For example, my Tour AD XC in my driver appears to have been trimmed 1/4" to account for the adapter and is 24.75" from the end of the tip to the first ring on the shaft.

  2. It will be cut to manufacturers recommendations for that specific shaft. Only if you specify a specific tip trim will it show something else.

Each manufcurer sets the trim for each of their shafts- the actual performance/tip flex coud differ dependent upon the adaptor used (i.e. Titeist, Calaway, png etc.) and cubhead it is installed in. However, the difference shoud not be insignificant. If you were install a shaft you are comfortble with into another club head and the BBGM is greater than the clubhead the shaft came from you could tip trim for the difference to ensure the flex remains the same. Again probable the flex difference will be insignificant.
