I don't believe there is a ball specifically suited to cold weather play and most folks will say you should just keep playing your Pro V1 year round.  With that said, it never hurts to try a different ball (as long as it's still a Titleist).  Two balls you might consider trying  (start with a sleeve) are the NXT Tour S and the DT TruSoft.  If you don't feel like they are any different than your Pro V1, then switch back.  Either way, go back to your Pro V1 when the weather warms up.

I would suggest playing the dt trusoft. This might give you a little more distance off the tee in cold weather. The higher compression balls like the pro v1's are hareder to hit in colder weather.

From what I understand the cold is going to effect the ball regardless of what type it is.  I know that when it is colder, a lower compression ball feels better.  I believe that Titleist replaced the DT SOLO with the DT Truesoft.  I would try that, if you just want something softer.  If you don't care, then stick with either the Pro V or Vx or just stay inside by the fire.

I'm a big believer in that if you switch balls in the Winter you are killing your game and can expect higher scores.The best ball to play is the ball you play all year. Accept the fact that the ball isn't going to carry as far. If you change the characteristics of your golf ball you are screwing up every aspect of your game. If you have been fit for your clubs and your ball, that is the ball you should be using. Golfers are constantly looking to improve their consistency so how do you do this changing balls throughout the year.

It's just play with one warm ball each hole. Just keep a ball in your pocket and swap each hole. Seems to work for me and even though we are playing in high 30s low 40's my distance hasn't dropped much at all! I play the prov1x

i could not Agee more. Play one and second in front pocket to keep warm. Switching ever hole.

also prefer to go to the DT TruSoft when temps go below 50.

If there a ball that performs better in cold weather I don't know about it and would be surprised if there was one.  Just play your ball and don't worry about it.  Think more about your swing.  That is what I would do.

Think the ProV1 is also suitable for cold temperatures

Suggest to warm your balls in your pocket while walking to the next tee

I play the NXT Tour S, soft feel even in cold weather.  Trick I use is I carry two balls in my pocket with a pocket warmer.  I switch out the balls every hole so when I tee off, the ball I'm using is all warmed up.  At the end of the hole, that ball goes in my pocket and the other, warmed up ball, comes out and I use that one on the next hole.   I does seem to make a difference, and I'm not breaking any rule that I know of.

I'm no expert, but I do know this.  I recently played a couple of rounds in sub 40* degree weather.  First time in over 25 years.

I listened to fellow TT members and warmed up a couple of Titleist and a couple of "other" brand balls.  When I put the other balls into play, even though they were warm it felt like hitting a rock.  When I use the Titleist (DT Trusoft, Solo, and NXT) it had a lot better results.

If I ever play in the cold again, I'm using Titleist first before putting the other balls into play.  That's my opinion and thought.

I have found that the temperature affects the course more than the golf ball,  I read a Titleist article a few years ago that said a room temperature golf ball should perform as it is meant to for a typical round of golf even in temps close to freezing.  Having said that, I typically go to a Velocity or NXT (even the new DT TruSoft) and play more of a "hit and run" game ... harder ground means much less spin.

As several others have stated, you do not need to change your golf ball in the winter.   Assuming you have played the same ball consistently during the warmer months, you should stick with the same ball.  You should make adjustments to the distance you expect to hit each club, just like you make adjustments when you are downwind or hitting to an elevated green.  When you change your ball, you are changing every shot you will make with every club.   

I like using the NXT Tour during the colder temps.  I use a Prov1 during the regular season and switch to the NXT Tour thus giving me a change of pace Titleist ball to use!!!!!!
