Hi have an AP2 w factory installed NSPRO 970 stiff steel shaft. This is getting a little heavier for me and thinking about switching to a lighter weight steel shaft and maybe move to a regular flex. Any recommendations?

I ordered ap1s 716s with Nippon 850 r flex shafts three months ago on the advice of my local Titleist fitter best shafts I've played with ! I love the feel . I tryed a lot of the options including Graf. Xp other true temper shafts and these feel and preform the best for my swing speed. I know you'll read a lot about getting fit but it in the long run its the answer to better golf.

Try the XP95's. I replaced the S300's I was originally fitted for on my 714 AP2's and found them longer and higher and considerably lighter while still being a stiff steel shaft.

Like you, I had an stiff shafts on my 716 T-MB 5&6 iron, and 716 CB 7-PW. But my body is changing, and I needed to go lighter and also in regular flex with the shafts. I went with NS Pro Zelos7 regular. It is the sweetest steel shafts. I'll be changing my SM6 wedge shafts with them as well.
