I have an old Titleist BullsEye Milled face 3.25L putter that I've had for going on 15 years.  I don't play much, 10 or so rounds a year, but I've used this putter every round.  I love it.

It broke.  Not just a "ok, the shaft came loose" or "damn, the putter grip is cracking".  The head, literally, fell off.

Like any young golfer, it has it's share of frequent flier miles.  Though I've never broken it, and I have certainly calmed down quite a bit in the last 10 years.  Last week, my brother was nice enough to grab my putter out the cart as I walked up the fairway to my bunker shot on the 17th hole.  He dropped it by the green and the head snapped off.  The hosel broke off right at the top line of the putter head.  Shaft is still attached to the hosel.  Is there any way to fix this and still have it look/operate as it has for all these years?

I think I can piece it together if i have to, but I would REALLY like to have it done right if it's cost effective.

    Thanks for any replies.

Sorry to hear of the injury to your putter.  If the actual head is broken off, unfortunately, there is no way to replace that as we don't have any more heads.  If it is the shaft itself that broke off in the hosel, we can reshaft that for you.  Just have your pro shop call 1-800-833-3450 x 1.

    Cathi,

I still have the head.  The (original) shaft, is still firmly attached to the hosel.  The point where the bottom of the hosel meets the top of the head is the fracture point.  I don't know if i can post a pic of it here, but I will try to get one up tonight or tomorrow.

    Thanks,

    Just saw that I fat-fingered the model...it's a 2.25L, not a 3.25L.  Can this be repaired?

Sorry, Ben......I sent these pictures to our repair department and they could not fix it.   I have sent your pictures to the custom shop and will let you know what they say.

I have heard back from the custom shop and this is what they have told me.  It sounds like we cannot fix it, but you may be able to do the repair.

Milled bullseye. Looks like the hosel is broken off inside the head. I don't know where we would find components. Last built them in mid 90's. We wouldn't do the work because it is not a Cameron, but a good repairman could probably drill it out and at worst shim the remaining hosel in place losing very little overall length.

  7. Cathi,

I'm sorry to see you wouldn't do the work because its not a Cameron.  I also have a 2.25L and was going to inquire about having it refinished, but I guess that's not an option from Titleist..  Is my assumption correct?

I was impressed though by your effort to find a solution for the other 2.25L owner.

We will refinish your Bullseye, but if it is too damaged (too many nicks), some( or all) of the graphics may be removed during the refinishing process.  If you don't mind that, it will come back looking like new.  Please have your pro call 1-800-833-3450 x1 for the Repair department.  The MSRP to refinish the Bullseye is $51.00.

I think that your only remedy is to have the putter head welded back on the neck, and I doubt you will find a golf company to do it (but I could be wrong).  I love the look of welded neck'd putters and have a few in my gamer rotation.  I say go for it and bring that puppy back to life!

The only option here is to drill out the remaining piece of neck.  I remember from working on one of these is that there really isnt much to work with metalwise but if it is drilled out to 0.370" it will fit one of the newer neck/hosel adapters available from various websites.

A good machine shop should be able to drill this accurately enough and make this neck fit.
