I bought a new TS2 a few months ago. The shaft in it was a R Flex, so they swapped it out with an S from a bag of spare shafts. I didnt care for the shaft, so they told me check back every now and then with their used stock and they would be happy to swap it for another used S flex. Luckily today they have a nice selection of used Titleist fairways. I ended up with a HZRDUS Smoke Black 70g 6.0, but next to each other, the shafts were definitely different lengths. Are most fairway wood shafts shorter as the loft increase, or are they usually a standard length unless cut shorter? Wondering if i had a 5/7 wood shaft or a hybrid shaft initially. Regardless, i believe the HZRDUS Smoke will fit my game better.

How much shorter is it? The stock TS driver shaft is 45.5"

Should have clarified in the original post, but this is a fairway and not a driver. Side by side they looked close to an inch different.

From 7W (41.5 inches) to 3W (43 inches), fairways to vary in length. The hybrid, fairway, and driver shafts won't fit from one type to the other. For hybrids, they also vary in length from 27 to 17 degrees heads.

Hopefully they gave you a discount or other form of deal for an off the rack unit. The suggested retail price for rack pricing and special ordering with a different stock/no upcharge shaft is the same from Titleist. You shouldn't be going into the "spare parts bin" to get the shaft you need The list price is high enough to expect to get the best fit from the factory.
  5. 13.5 and 15 degree fwys come in at 43" total, 16.5 42.5", 18 42", 21 41.5"

Here is a chart for TS2 fairways which shows the standard shaft lengths for various lofts.

Also, fairway wood shafts are incrementally one half inch shorter, when the loft increases. 13.5, 15= 43. 16.5 =42 etc Looking in TS fairways on this sight, you can look at the loft, lie and length for the stock shafts..

    TS2
    Loft Options (RH/LH): 13.5°, 15°, 16.5°, 18°, 21° (RH Only)
    Lie: 56.5°, 56.5°, 57°, 57.5°, 58°
    Length: 43”, 43”, 42.5”, 42”, 41.5"

Just comparing the shafts, the 3 wood shaft is standard 42 1/4'" from grip to tip. For the fairway shafts you add 3/4" to the shaft length to get the overall club length.
