I did a Titleist iron fitting about 6 weeks. We had some time left and the fitter asked if there was anything else I wanted to try. I mentioned that I had been thinking about replacing my 910h (I think it was 19deg) and he suggested trying a 7w. As soon as I hit it, I knew it was the right decision.

Fast forward to last Friday. I played in a scramble with some friends and had several opportunities to use the new 7w. After hitting some really good shots, a friend started asking me about it. I offered to let him try it for our 2nd shot on a par 5 and he flushed it. He turned to me and said, "Oh yeah. I am definitely getting one of these!"

If you are looking for something in lieu of a 3i, I would highly suggest giving it a shot.

I’m not going for the green in 2 on a par 5, but a 7W gapped better than a 21 degree hybrid as the next club up from a 23 hybrid. Love it.
Whatever your battle is on the golf course, having the best tool in the arsenal for that shot is best for your game.

Best things since sliced bread. I still have my 910F 21 fairway (currently has an Ilima 70g R; have a Bassara R and Bassara A flex available). I was able to drop the loft on my TSR1 20 and 23 fairways to stock after installing stock length Diamana 72 R shafts and 5g headweights. I have a TSR1 26 hybrid set to 27 and re-introduced a Sumo2 SQ 34H.

Been using them even as far back as the 2008 US Open. Gary Player also mention on "Playing Lessons from the Pros" that he would have won more Masters' had he had a 9 wood in the bag. Also remember..... in 1972, Lee Trevino said "Get ya a 6 wood." He was the first one on the PGA to carry a lofted fairway wood.

My 9 wood is my go to on the fairway. The other day I was actually hitting my TSR1 23 fairway further both off the deck and off the tee vs the TSR1 20. Come to find out that I hit the ball better on the 20 with the Surefit at D3.

Update: I set my TSR1 20 to A2 surefit. I now get the correct distance gap between it and the 9 wood. I also put my 816H1 27 hybrid back in the bag because it is way easier to hit vs the TSR1 (which has a lie angle 1* flatter). My 9 wood still remains my go to for navigating the fairways.

My go to line up is either 5 wood and 9 wood or 7 wood. A 9 wood is much easier to hit vs a 21 or 23 hybrid.
