I have been playing golf for over 40 years and haven't made any Hole-in-Ones until the 2020s. Been close many times, but never an Ace. My first Hole-in-One was in April of 2020.
This past July (2024), Titleist conducted a ball fitting at my club, and I was fitted for the AVX. That is the only ball I use now.
Here's the story:
On December 28, 2024, I'm on my first-ever golf trip to Bandon Dunes with a childhood friend and her husband, who make trips to Bandon regularly 2-3 times a year. We were there to bring in the New Year 2025 and get a few rounds in, weather permitting.
We arrived at Bandon Dunes on the afternoon of December 28 and had enough time to get in a quick round in breezy conditions under an overcast sky at one of the par-3 courses, Bandon Preserve.
On the 87-yard 3rd hole, it was a back pin playing more like 125 yards. I chose to hit my Vokey SM10 PW (46° F Grind) into a stiff wind.
I struck the ball very well, it landed 20 feet past the pin and spun back into the cup for my second-ever Hole-in-One in my life.
